9/13 Canyonlands National Park, Moab, Utah

Vertigo Be Gone

You can see how this place got it's name in the photo of John doing dancers pose close to the edge of a mesa cliff.  From the Moab campground we drive about 40 miles northwest of Arches to Canyonlands National Park for the day.   This white board greeted us at the entrance to the Visitors Center.  So glad to see others place such importance of our ability to adapt.  Can you figure out which one is mine?

We are WIPED from so much hiking in Arches but can't pass up a little tour around the Island In The Sky section of the park.

DEB, DON'T LOOK DOWN
A half mile hike out to interesting Mesa Arch is where we stop to have lunch on the side of the trail.  We also take a fantastic 2 mile hike out to White Rim Overlook which required some guts to walk onto this land based promontory which requires slight jumps from rock to rock while looking down hundreds of feet between the cracks!

John couldn’t climb on top of this balanced rock for the photo I really wanted, but he balanced it out by standing on one side while a raven stood on the other.  This half a day of touring was all our feet and energy would allow.

By the way, my contribution was "Respect Differences".  My kids always heard me say, "change isn't necessarily bad, it's just different".

Today's Hike:  2.5 miles (70 feet elevation change)
